“Fill your life with adventures, not things. Have stories to tell not stuff to show.” -Anonymous
This past weekend, we made our second annual friends & family trip and we settled on going to Lake Tahoe for our weekend adventures. I still can’t believe how easy it was with the kids, this was the first trip all of us were able to sit back and let the kids play in their own worlds for the majority of the time. Other than the brutal sleepless nights with Ronan who kept waking up and screaming every couple hours (not something that I’m used to with this good sleeper at home), it was still all worth it. Our big boys blew us away with their bravery and their persistence. We took a hike to Cascades Falls on Saturday and they made it up and down without any piggy back rides. Even though the falls were puny, their self-confidence and pride were filled to the brim. They were so proud of being the rockstars that they are. I can’t believe they’ve grown so much since our first summer trip to Slo. I am beyond grateful to be able to capture these nuggets of goodness along the way and to be able to look back at these summer adventures with the kids one day when they all get older. Or relieve them for 2 hours in a row this morning with Ronan who just wanted to see pictures of his cousin, Noah, and the ducks. 😉
