Yesterday, we celebrated with Shioun and Clee at their baby shower. I got to work together with an incredible team to put this out of this world Pinterest explosion to life. We had so much fun decorating, as we watched Jude eat lots of munchies while chasing Casper around. By the time everyone came, the room was filled with laughter, smiles, and glee. It seems like yesterday, when all of us triple dated in Napa. Each of us girls had only known each other for a short period of time, but thanks to our husbands whose friendship of many years bore us each a gift of friendship that will last us a lifetime. May the countdown begin for Baby Lee’s arrival!

Friendship Begins Here

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old…we grow old because we stop playing.” -Anonymous

I took Juju out on a playdate with my past spiritual mentor with her daughter. It was so much fun just catching up over snacks and boba, while watching our two play together. Makea is absolutely gorgeous, just like her older sister who met while working at the childcare center since she was three years old. Back then I wasn’t a mom, I wasn’t even a credentialed teacher, but my friendship with her mama began there. I’m so grateful for the years that have gone by and how much we’ve learned from each other.

We can play anywhere & everywhere!

“Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.” -O. Fred Donaldson

Today, my cousin and I set out to meet up for a playdate at the Palo Alto Zoo. Unfortunately, the zoo was closed and we had no idea until we got there. It was quite an adventure, one that made me reminisce about our childhood. We spent so many sunny days outdoors playing in my grandparent’s backyard and at the nearby park. It didn’t even bother us today that we had to eat in the car, while our two boys napped and our plans were suddenly changed. The truth was, it was a great day simply because we were together. In many ways, I see ourselves in our two boys. One taller than the other, one willing to take more risks, one being a little louder, one being a bit more mature…with just a little close of our eyes I think both of us can easily recall a similar memory that took place nearly 25 years ago.
