Tiny Wisdom, Big Results

An old Cherokee man told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is Good. It is joy, peace love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.

The grandson through about it for minute and then asked, ‘Which wolf wins?’

His grandfather replied, ‘The one you feed.’

Which will you feed in your classroom?

Words to Hold Onto

As a teacher, there are simply days we all lose steam and forget why we took the road less travelled. I’m starting this blog to capture the moments and the images that keep us motivated when the going gets tough. More importantly, to relish the good and pure elements of our profession and to pass them along to others.

Best Quote of the Day:

F: Mrs. Yu, why did the math book look so sad?

Teacher: I don’t know. Why?

F: Because he has too many problems!
