15 Fast Months

“There’s no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one.” -Jill Churchill

He’s growing up fast before our eyes and each day it’s so much fun watching him learn new words, new tricks, and to see the little man God created him to be. He was born to bring lots of laughter and smiles and I believe that to be his first spiritual gift. I don’t even have to ask him to greet strangers anymore, he usually offers up a scrunched face smile to random people on the streets and in stores. If you’re having a rough day, month, or year please come visit our little Juju. I promise you Baby Jude’s first ministry of love and acceptance will heal a little of your broken heart.

Choo Choo Train

“You are my sun, my moon, and all of my stars.” -E.E. Cummings

I’ve been looking forward to taking my mom and Jude on the Sunol Train for quite some time. Part of the allure of today’s adventure was knowing I’d be able to photograph beautifully restored old trains and the other part of it is my desire to fill Jude’s albums with as many new experiences as possible. He had so much fun walking up and down the train with his Popo and eating snacks on his lap. He even shared his snacks twice! 😉

Today’s trip was spent went with a handful of church friends who we sat with in an open car for 1.5 hours. It was the perfect way to start of a Saturday. The trains sweet, slow pace made it easy for Jude to walk around, while listening to live musicians making their way through train. I highly encourage taking the time to schedule a trip to ride the train if you have little ones and want something different to do on the weekend!

A little bit of love, goes a long way!

“Enter as strangers. Leave as friends.” -Anonymous

Yesterday, we opened our home for Baby Yee’s Baby Shower and it couldn’t have turned out better. Her sisters and bestie threw together a Pinterest worthy party. The decor, food, and Storybook theme came together perfectly. Forrest and Ed smoked ribs for over 4 hours to feed the guests of the party and Kimi’s father brought his homemade inari and BBQ’d his delicious chicken wings. We’re glad our backyard got some loving after being neglected during the cold winter months. So glad we were able to meet so many of their loved ones! Enjoy a few photos from yesterday.

Looking Out the Same Window

“A happy family is but an earlier heaven.” -Anonymous

There was something incredibly special about taking Jude to Hong Kong to meet our family. Watching him discover the hustle and bustle of the streets, meeting our family, and looking through the same window I grew up staring out of was a dream come true. As scared and nervous as I was about flying with him for so many hours, the fear of him not getting a chance to meet my grandmother when she’s still doing so well made it all worth it. Even today, after I finished editing my photos I was asking Juju where Tai Po and Yi Po were and he perked up at the sound of their names as I pointed out their photos. Thank you to all those who treated us out, visited, and hosted us! I don’t know when we’ll be going back, but I will treasure these photos for years to come!

There are so many photos to choose from, but I’ll try to narrow down my favorites to give you all a snippet of life in Hong Kong. Many of these photos include the bond that was formed between my cousin’s son and Jude who are merely 4 months apart.
