Happy 4 Months, Chunkamunk!

“The most precious jewels you’ll ever wear around your neck are the arms of your children.”

You’re the little light of my world, Jude. Mama, is so glad she gets to come home to be with you. You remove the tension and the stress from every day life, just because you live. Love you forever and a day.

Birthday Bash & Festival Fun

“Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life.”

I could not be happier to have a three day weekend. As lucky as we are to have a pretty easy going baby, not getting enough sleep each night has finally caught up to us. All three of us slept in this morning and ended up missing church. It’s going to be nice to catch up on more sleep with the coming of summer! For this weekend, we have had the pleasure of enjoying our local Art & Wind Festival and celebrating my sister-in-law’s birthday. We chose to spend the evening indoors, instead of going to a restaurant. However, I wanted to bring the feel of a restaurant into our home. *Cheers* Now, that I have one more day I get to watch 24 with the hubs.

Mother’s Day Celebration

No one else will ever know the strength of my love for you. After all, you’re the only one who knows what  my heart sounds like from the inside.”  -Anonymous

We went to Napa yesterday to celebrate Mother’s Day with my mother. It was the perfect day, with perfect weather. We even scored a meal at Addendum! Ken has wanted to eat there forever. Just walking around and relaxing under the cool breeze is just the way I’d like to spend every weekend.

Baby Jude has made me the happiest mama. His bright smile, huge round eyes, and soft coos get me every time. I couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you, God for the life you gave to us! *Cheers*

“Like Mold on Bread”

To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides. – David Viscott

We had the pleasure of witnessing the marriage of two old friends today. These two met at BAAYF, a youth camp that some how ends up producing lifelong couples…including my marriage with Ken. It’s always fun to see a love story unfold from the very beginning, when nothing existed at all, to the many stages that transform two people into compatible partnership. Ken used to joke with Nate about the power of being like “mold on bread.” A dear friend shared the analogy with me years ago, some guys just grow on you and one day you find yourself wanting to spend the rest of your life with them. We are happy that Nate won Andy’s heart and we wish them all the very best as they begin this new journey of their lives. I have to thank Aaron for snapping these photos, since Baby Jude was sound asleep on my lap. Oh, and what was the highlight of the ceremony? Watching the ringbearer walk backwards down the aisle and have him call out, “Hi! Uncle Ken!”

Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one. -Dr. Suess

Baby Jude is now 3 months old and watching him discover the world that surrounds him makes us so happy. Being home with him for an entire week during Spring Break was absolutely blissful. He’s figured out how to use his itty bitty fingers to grab onto objects, he enjoys cooing while I sing and dance in the kitchen, and his hair continues to grow as fast as his chunky body. All things we love about him!
