Wedding Bliss

“Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible- it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could.”

-Barbara de Angelis

I’m back from Chicago and I miss it already. I was lucky enough to be there for Yvette on the morning of her wedding. It was truly a gift to witness the amount of love and support she has. Everything turned out beautifully, down to the very last detail. It was yet another Pin-tastic wedding! Here is a synopsis of Saturday’s magical ceremony.

I wish you the very best start to your marriage. You two are the only friends that I know of who married high school sweethearts, moved onto the other side of the country without knowing anyone, survived more hardships than others your age, and built up one of the strongest relationships I’ve ever known. May the Lord bless you in the years to come and continue to build your business, home, and family!

Filoli Gardens

All my bags are packed and I’m ready to fly to Chicago, but before I do so, I wanted to share some photos from my birthday outing with my mom. If you ever need a special place to take photos for a project, this place is a must see. For someone like me who has a black thumb, as opposed to a green thumb the only way for me to enjoy beautiful flowers is to see it in someone else’s garden or to handpick them at a local farmers market stall. I’ved tried. I swear, but everything always seems to die. I bought my first succulent a week ago, so far so good! Hopefully these photos will inspire me to remember to feed my plants…

Paw Shoot

Yesterday, I shot some photos as a Thank You gift for a friend who has been a huge help over the years. We all call him the Mayor of the Dogpark, but in all seriousness a good friend is priceless. What better way to show gratitude then to gift someone with something meaningful? The next time you’re looking for another way to say, “Thank you” find a way to do something you love.

p.s. I added some photos of Suki, her new buddy, and Prism’s sister. How adorable is Ooshi? She’s half German Shepard and half Rottie. In love with her cuteness.

Dinner @ Hotel Yu

“Seek home for rest, for home is best.” -Thomas Tusser

We decided to keep things simple this year and celebrate Father’s Day at our home. I decided to try out a new salad, new table tags, and my new calligraphy pen. I loved getting ready for this dinner. My hubs and I went to our local farmers market to pick up fresh flowers, hummus, pita chips, cherries, and pastries the day before. More than anything, I wanted to try out my new lens! So the next time you’re considering going out, why not stay at home? Light some candles, set the table, and you’re good to go!

Louisa’s Lovely Lady Bump

Nearly 10 years ago, I met Malina at the childcare center where I was working for Thena. She was just around two years old at the time and was as cute as a button. Her mom, Louisa, was a beautiful, vibrant, hot mama. We’ve all grown up in some way over the course of these last 10 years. Malina has morphed into a beautiful young lady. I have become a wife and a teacher and Louisa has become a mom once again. It’s truly been a dream come true. In less than 6 weeks, her new precious angel will make her debut to this world and I simply can’t wait to meet her. I’m so glad I had a chance to squeeze this shoot in and had Malina play around with a vintage camera my inlaws passed on to me last weekend. Looking at the photos from today, I realize why I couldn’t help but snap so many photos of Malina. I used to be in charge of taking photos for each child’s portfolio, it was my job to capture their quizzical expressions and their new interests. I guess some things haven’t changed…
