Cuteness Overload

“Play is the highest form of research.” -Albert Einstein

This past weekend we had a chance to spend some time with family and friends on the East Coast for Ken’s cousin’s wedding. On the first day arrived, we took Juju to go see Gavin at another Pumpkin Patch. Let me just say…East Coast Pumpkin Patches are the BEST! They’re huge, filled with fun things to see, and lots to do. If I were a kid, I would’ve loved being on a school bus for that kind of field trip. I’m glad now that we’re parents we get to relive these favorite childhood moments with our little munchkins.

p.s. Happy 9 months, Chunkamunk! We’ll upload those photos in the future.

Play with Pumpkins Play Date

“As soon as I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen.” -Winnie the Pooh

Today we started off by joining Baby Liam & Baby Ellie for a fun play date. It was fun seeing them eye each other stare with their little grins. I’m looking forward to seeing them interact more and more each time, as our little ones grow. Hands down, Pumpkin Patches are way cuter when you have kids to go with. Look at the size of Juju’s juicy fingers! Until next time…

Give One, Get One

“Everyone you will ever meet knows something you don’t.” -Bill Nye

Anyone whose ever taught in the classroom knows the teaching strategy “Give one, Get one” it’s an oldie, but a goodie that I’ve applied to life outside of the classroom too. I swear every single time I hang out with one of these ladies I learn something new. Over the past five years, I’ve improved my craft as a teacher, a Project Specialist, a friend, a mom, and so much more. From the inside out, these women have shared what they’ve learned so that I don’t have to scramble trying to figure out something new on my on. I couldn’t be more grateful for the connections that we’ve made. Even though we’re almost all at different sites now, our conversations are always something I look forward to.

So what did I learn this weekend from Gina? Not only did I learn how to throw a beautiful wine party, but also how to make a delicious fruit tart! I can’t wait to give it a try. Thank you to our amazing host that made all of the gorgeous and scrumptious delights! Seriously, take notes this gal knows a thing or two about making everything look good and taste good!

The Adventures of the Gavinator

“There are two gifts we should give our children: one is roots, and the other is wings.”

Before Antonia flew back to Virginia, we wanted to squeeze in a special shoot for her son and her mom. Living so far away from her grandson doesn’t give them many opportunities to have photos together. I’ve been eyeing this public park for quite some time and wanted to check it out before another project I have lined up for next week. It was the perfect opportunity to scope out the place and to help capture some timeless photos of the two playing together. I had so much fun playing with them, I wish they lived closer. Good thing we’ll be traveling to see them and family in just two weeks!

Boogey to the Beat

“Dance like no one is watching…”

We had another great day at Emma Prusch Park! Juju had double the playmates, when we met up with my old coworkers twins. I have to admit, the kids were all pretty freaking adorable. When the band started playing and the kids started grooving, we couldn’t help but smile. These kids won all our hearts today. No matter what language our kids speak, they can all enjoy music together. If you’ve had a bad day, I swear you’re going to feel a whole lot better after you see these photos. Now, go turn up some music and dance like no one is watching.

Everything is Awesome!

“Life is either a great adventure or nothing.” -Helen Keller

From middle school to becoming moms, I’ve known Antonia for quite a long time. She came back to visit family and friends for a week and we decided to take our boys on an adventure with her mom whom I haven’t seen since college! 90 degree weather didn’t stop us from having a blast with our boys. Her son, Gavin Chase is as handsome as his name would suggest. We had such a good time today exploring Happy Hallow Park. I simply can’t wait for tomorrow’s adventures. #mamalife
