Today, my cousin and I set out to meet up for a playdate at the Palo Alto Zoo. Unfortunately, the zoo was closed and we had no idea until we got there. It was quite an adventure, one that made me reminisce about our childhood. We spent so many sunny days outdoors playing in my grandparent’s backyard and at the nearby park. It didn’t even bother us today that we had to eat in the car, while our two boys napped and our plans were suddenly changed. The truth was, it was a great day simply because we were together. In many ways, I see ourselves in our two boys. One taller than the other, one willing to take more risks, one being a little louder, one being a bit more mature…with just a little close of our eyes I think both of us can easily recall a similar memory that took place nearly 25 years ago.
