Last weekend we threw a small party for Juju’s third birthday. I can’t believe Ken and I have been parents for three years already. It seems just like yesterday when we brought him home for the first time. We’ve learned a lot alongside our son during these past three years and all the ups and downs have taught me how strong, how loving, and how forgiving we’ve all been. None of us are perfect, but we’re learning just how much we can still love each other despite our imperfections. Here’s to taking a moment to reflect on my top favorite recent Juju moments.

1. I love how he wakes up from a nap or comes home from school and always asks, “Where’s Ronan Didi?” And if his brother is awake he’ll coo, “Awwww, he’s sooo cute!”
2. I love his impeccable memory. Every time he plays with something given by someone he knows, he’ll say thank you for the gift over and over again. *Melts my heart*
3. I love his enthusiasm for traveling by BART, Muni, Monorail, or by airplane. He’ll run up to me while we’re at home and say, “You want to come with me?” Then he’ll grab my hand and bring me to the couch where he’s got a tray to place items that need to go through the “security” checkpoint, a remote, his luggage, and “chips” because mama always buys Pringles for our travel snacks. He’ll proceed with checking to make sure our seat belts are buckled and he’ll tell me we’re on our way to see my brother and his dog, Suki.

p.s. The cake topper was supposed to be a train, but we didn’t find where we hid it until three days after the party. Smh.
