“The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice.” -Brian Herbert
I had the absolute pleasure of traveling to Philly to attend my very first Educational Tech conference this past week and I loved everything about it. To be in a space where I could walk in and out of different workshops and learn so much in a city I was equally interested in exploring was such a gift. I’m so grateful to those who supported my Donor’s Choose grant and helped make this all happen.
Anytime I felt overwhelmed by the amount of knowledge I was consuming, I would step out and a take a quick walk through Chinatown to grab something to eat and drink. Each day, I racked up thousands of steps knowing what it a gift it was that I didn’t have to push a stroller, entertain my kids, or have to carry a clinging child. While I missed my boys dearly, I didn’t waste this precious gift of TIME I was allotted for the duration of my stay and spent hours upon hours either learning, exploring, eating, or reading. I can’t wait to start teaching mini lessons in the classroom and sharing the wealth of knowledge that I gained at ISTE this year.
