“Because of you, I laugh a little harder, cry a little less, and smile a lot more.” -Unknown
Last weekend, I had the privilege of leaving the little man at home with Ken while I took a much needed bestie moon with my childhood best friend. I don’t know why I didn’t do this the first time around, but it was by far one of the best trips I’ve ever had. There’s something about time passing so quickly, knowing change is just around the bend that makes you realize how precious every moment of the present is. After months of hard work, late nights, and many Facetime sessions with my brother we were both able to enjoy the fruits of our labor. Neither of us have played tourist in the city where he’s been working so hard to create a livable oasis. I couldn’t have been happier about the food we ate, the places we got to see, or the conversations that we had. Being able to tour the Parker Hotel, the Ace Hotel, and reaching Joshua Tree just before the sunset was the perfect plan to an easygoing, fun trip. Thank you again to my brother who hosted us, killed them crickets, and took care of his two big sisters.
